DILA is currently accepting applications for the following positions:
Contractual Full Time/Part Time Instructor
Full Time/Part Time contractual EDS Instructor position will plan, organize and implement an appropriate job seeking skills instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students with various disabilities to develop and fulfill their employment potential; Develop schemes of work and lesson plans using the Plato Curriculum; identify and select appropriate instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs and abilities; observe and evaluate student performance and provide appropriate feedback; document and maintain all necessary records accurately and completely. Classes are 20 hrs per week and are held at a time of day that meets the needs of the students, could be day or evening. Applicant must have High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; fluency in ASL or sign language is a plus. Six months experience in the use of structured training techniques for teaching job performance skills, job-related skills and work behaviors is preferred.
Contractual Full Time/Part Time Job Coach
Full Time/Part Time Job Coach position to provide individual and group on-the-job training for individuals with various levels of hearing loss which includes teaching and coaching how to develop job skills, employee/employer relationships, work ethics and communication for successful employment outcomes. Must have at least six month's experience with training, coaching and motivating people. Skilled in use of structured training techniques for teaching job performance skills; job-related skills and work behaviors. Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
Independent Living Advisors - Full Time/Part Time
Independent Living Advisors provide direct care independent living services and support to individuals. Services range from personal hygiene, medication administration and intensive independent living skills training in individuals' homes, etc. throughout the Eastern Shore. Shifts varies within a team oriented environment. The minimum qualifications are fluency in ASL; High School Diploma, or equivalent required; one year related experience preferred; competency with basic independent living skills; must be flexible and work within a team approach environment. Ability to teach, advise and motivate people. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and good driving record required.
Driver - Part Time
Part time Driver to provide transportation services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals with other disabilities to locations throughout the Eastern Shore. Shift varies with some evenings and weekends. Must have high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license with clean driving record with no moving violations, follow all safety guidelines per MVA and 3-5 years experience. Fluency in ASL preferred or willingness to learn.
Specified Program Support - Part Time
Specified Program Support will be responsible for coordinating the maintenance & repairs with various vendors for HUD properties. Determines the severity of the needs & takes the initiative to contact, solicit bids, & schedule work to be completed. Conduct inspections & meets repair workers at the various sites. Must have High school diploma or equivalent, 2 yrs exp. with programs in a nonprofit organization, preferably housing programs. Must be willing to travel a 50 mile radius & work well with a diverse group of individuals, community members & licensed contractors. Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
