Deaf Independent Living Association, Inc. (DILA), a 501 (c) 3 organization, has launched its first time ever "Sign to Succeed Campaign". The purpose of the Campaign is to encourage you to join our efforts in taking a proactive role in addressing issues within the deaf and hearing loss community at an earlier age to strengthen existing resources. This can be accomplished by providing knowledge and resources, empowering individuals to make informed choices and collaborating with various community partners.

Investing in the Campaign will enable DILA to reach a larger population, diversify programs and services and help many deaf and hard of hearing people enter the workforce, secure affordable housing, access quality healthcare and much more. In addition, it ensures that deaf and hard of hearing individuals move out of isolation and into the mainstream of society. To date, the Campaign has 100% participation from DILA's Board and Staff. We invite you to join us on this endeavor.

We are asking if you would please join us in our efforts to improve the lives of deaf and hard of hearing individuals in our community. A generous contribution, of any amount, will help us with the following:
  • Support deaf and hard of hearing individuals in jobs of their choice; and,
  • Ensure that deaf and hard of hearing individuals maintain their employment; and,
  • Teach American Sign Language (ASL) to parents of deaf and hard of hearing children; and,
  • Provide daily independent living residential supports; and,
  • Provide educational workshops and community awareness regarding deaf and hard of hearing issues; and,
  • Offer a summer camp program for deaf and hard of hearing children and youth; and,
  • Maintain an up to date resource and information and referral center; and,
  • Much more.
A return on your investment will entail recognition in our annual report, newsletter and on our newly designed website. In addition, a plaque hanging in our front lobby will display your name honoring you as a supporter of our Campaign and you will receive a pin to wear for support.
There are three easy ways to make a most appreciative donation:
  1. Make a check payable to "DILA Sign to Succeed" and mail it along with the enclosed envelop; or,
  2. Log on to our website at www.dila.org, click on the "Donate On-Line" listed on our home page; or,
  3. Mail a check directly to the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, 1324 Belmont Avenue, Suite 401, Salisbury, Maryland 21804. Please make sure that you put DILA Endowment on the memo line.
